The Six-Month BMA Coach Programme

The Six-Month BMA Coach Programme

Where knowledge becomes skill — and skill becomes second nature.

By the time you reach this stage, you’ll already have powerful tools from the Addictions First Aid / BMA Coach Foundation Course.
The next six months are about learning how to be a coach, putting them into practice, building your confidence, and learning how to adapt them for a wide range of real-life situations.

This is where you stop just knowing the BMA method — and start living it

What the programme includes

  • Regular group coaching calls with Chris Hill and the BMA team to deepen your understanding and keep your skills sharp.
  • Learn the art and science of coaching
  • Be able to apply the step-by-step BMA Coaching Method
  • Ongoing coaching and supervision to give you feedback, advice, and guidance on your personal and professional journey.
  • Case study reviews where we’ll help you work through real scenarios and client challenges putting everything into practice.
  • Access to the BMA Coach Community — a supportive network of people who get what you’re trying to do and will cheer you on every step of the way.

From Addictions First Aider to Confident Coach

You’ll take the awareness and skills you learnt on the First Aider course — the ability to spot when someone is struggling, create a safe space, and guide them towards help — and strengthen them through experience.

You’ll learn how to handle more complex cases, support clients through setbacks, and adjust your approach so it works for different personalities and situations.

Why this stage matters

Coaching isn’t just about knowing what to say — it’s about how you respond when the unexpected happens – guiding and helping to make the transformation for the client.

It’s about building the kind of presence where people trust you enough to open up and knowing exactly what to do with that trust.

By the end of this programme, you won’t just feel ready to take on clients, you’ll have already started making an impact, as you will have put everything into practice with two case study clients under the supervision of one of our experienced Coach Supervisors.

This is where you truly step into the role of a coach.
